Workshop Level Assessment
To ensure a better learning environment, TZF requires dancers to qualify for intermediate level workshops.
Open level classes are open to all dancers and are suitable for a wide range of levels.
To join intermediate level workshops (Sat & Sun), you must qualify. To qualify for the intermediate level workshops, you must have at least 1 BZDC point or pass a level assessment.  If you have BZDC points, please show your BZDC record when checking in so you do not need to join the level assessment.
In the level assessment, leaders and followers are randomly paired.  Participants will dance a few songs with different partners while a small team of judges observes.
Level assessments are Friday at 20:00 and Saturday at 11:15. You only need to join one- not both. *Please join on Friday if possible*.  If you cannot make it on Friday, then join on Saturday.

The judges will evaluate dancers individually.  They will be checking for
-Consistent zouk timing
-Properly execution of fundamental steps such as basic, lateral, viradinha, soltinho, lunge, simple turn, bonus
Understanding of simple body isolations and undulations
-Connection

Dancers who qualify for intermediate level workshops will receive a different bracelet at check-in or after the assessment.

If you do not qualify for the intermediate workshops, you may still observe or follow-along with a partner off the dance floor, but you may not rotate with other participants on the dance floor.

Please note that this is something requested by many participants after our first year because *everyone* learns better when dancers have the foundation required for the classes they join 🙂
